    I believe that in G2's best 2019 days the secret sauce was the chaos they could introduce to their games. Both today and years ago korean an chinese teams were just better, but G2 knew how to make game chaotic, how to lower enemy decision making skills, macro skills etc and in this enviroment where nobody could play perfect league they could find a way to win. For me this is the best strategy for worse teams- make enemy worse aswell.

    The pool of professionals in China and Korea is massive compared to others. The only reason why minor regions from those surroundings perform is because they have access to the best servers. That been said, the west is lucky to have content creators that push the boundaries of champions and push other to learn different strats. This is definitely not the norm in the west. We copy and follow, rarely we innovate. Compare the couches as well. On one side we have old players that even though they were good in occident they couldn't keep up with the east. On the other side you have literal world champions couching the new generations to come. This gap would be a hard thing to overcome considering that most people see this from a business side and not a sports point of view. Overall, we have descended to an unhealthy system where we value goals achieved rather than progress fueled by proven former players and promising talent. Love you Jatt

    This is why I wholeheartedly believe that implementing Fearless Draft as standard when it comes to all professional League of Legends across the globe will not only cause long term growth within regions and lead to greater viewability (and therefore marketability), but it will also FORCE teams around the world to realise that the meta that people so feverishly enslave themselves to is a prison of their own design. G2 proved that exact point. Players should be forced to adapt and improvise, and Bo5's wouldn't devolve into teams alternating the same 15-20 champions every single game. That's why G2 are so popular. They not only are proving that pocket picks can be strong enough to beat world class teams, but they are proving that the meta is a construct that is damaging not only the professional scene, but also to the balance of the game. Riot wouldn't aggressively overshoot buffs and nerfs so often if proplay wasn't skewing balance numbers so aggressively all the time. Just food for thought.

    its mostly mikyx with his mentality carrying G2, he is doing superb shotcalling, I think its caps who is not on the same page, he depends so much on his team to play well. I think if they change mid laner they have a good chance to win world, sadly there is no western good mid laner, maybe vetheo but vetheo mental is a ticking bomb

    I think one of the most important thing to mention add in is the confidence to go for the kill, u can definitely see or feel when someone is playing scared. G2 is not afraid to go for 1v1 or 2v2 kills. NA have lost that ability long ago they r literally scared shitless in every game too afraid to make mistake = playing not to lose not going for the win

    I always saw it as a culture diff. The type of gameplay we promote as NA is fundamentally unsound. EU has probably the best meta understanding of the game, but not enough talent pool. KR is a close second, and CN is a unique 3rd in that theirs is the best... if the game is skirmishy and allows for mechanical expression

  • @xOscarAx
    @xOscarAx Месяц назад

    you said it perfectly at the start. as an NA fan im extremely jealous of G2. i wish NA had such a dominant team like that. the way they play is unique and there's just something magical about it. it feels like NA just plays super standard and are afraid to deviate from the norm. but if you play the norm vs someone that plays the norm better than you, then its going to feel one sided.

    That analogy of training environment to population participation is so accurate and is accentuated with countries that are successful in a sport despite a small population, like Australia with swimming, Norway with the winter Olympics, Finland with rally racing or the UK with darts. None of these countries have a physiological advantage that enable them to be better at these sports, just a higher participant base.

    Way too much hype, they won vs the weakest lpl/lck team. If there was a win to grab for G2, it was this. The t1 vs g2 was extended to 5 games only because of how bad T1 played, games were full of uncharacteristic mistakes, especially by Faker. The soloQ is also not really a factor. Whats holding back the region is that the LEC turned into a single top team region, while the rest is garbage, so you dont get quality scrims even if you play 24/7. Whats the point of having a +80% wr in scrims? You are not learning anything and clearly enemy teams are not punishing your mistakes, so it is a waste of time when testing stuff; sure u get to practice teamplay but thats it. Lets see if this win was just a fluke or they can keep up.

    Honestly I think they are the favorites to win against T1 (if they win agains TL) and a mental boomed team that just lost the Upper Brackett final still and in the final they are underdogs so yeah it is possible. But I hope other teams also come with creative respones.

    • @sashin2661

      Cant say if theyre favorites against T1 before you watch them play, also nothing says that the team losing the upper bracket final will mental boom. Realistically they still have 3 series in front of them where they will be the underdog, theyve already lost to T1 once this tournament. I agree that this series shows that its possible tho.

    It's crazy because this has always been the blueprint. Top American Guild Wars teams were doing the same thing 15+ years ago against a larger European ecosystem. 1. Run unconventional strategies that you self-validate 2. Have more flexibility than your opponents (more builds/champions that you are comfortable with) 3. Get extensive practice on both of the above since you are in a smaller, less competitive scene (and therefore, less likely to be punished while trying out new champions/comps) Certainly all of these advantages can be mitigated by how well other teams have a read on what's truly strong, how wide their champion pools are, etc. but it's been frustrating watching most western teams historically refuse to even try. When you aren't as good mechanically you need to find another edge.
